Kelowna Secondary School is located in beautiful Kelowna, B.C., with a student population of 1,850. The Music department has a long history of excellence and achievement, earning an outstanding reputation. Some of the courses we offer are Jazz Band, Concert Band, Chamber Choir, Vocal Jazz, Music Theory and Jazz Combo.
Students regularly have the opportunity, to work and perform with amazing guest artists and clinicians such as Bria Skonberg, Miles Black, Allison Girvan, Tom Keenlyside, and Scott Leithead.
Inspiring my students and encouraging them to be the best they can be is of the utmost importance to me. We are all very passionate about creating a love for music and a desire for lifelong learning and appreciation for it.
This Jazz Band involves students from Grades 10-12. Many of these students are in several ensembles as instrumentalists and vocalists.
We feel honoured to be asked to perform a concert at this year’s Canadian Rocky Mountain Music Festival.
