New Westminster Secondary Senior Jazz Band | Wash, Rinse and Repeat

Rinse, Wash and Repeat

New Westminster Secondary Senior Jazz Band Rinse, Wash and Repeat is one of two senior jazz bands from New Westminster Secondary School. The school has a large music program and is known for its outstanding jazz ensembles.

“Rinse, Wash, and Repeat” is an expression that quotes the instructions found on many brands of shampoo. It is also used as a humorous way of pointing out that such instructions, if taken literally, would result in an endless loop of repeating the same steps, at least until one runs out of shampoo.

It is also a sarcastic metaphor for following instructions or procedures slavishly without critical thought. Never follow instructions without questioning their validity.

Still, in a musical context the phrase refers to the process of practicing, refining, and polishing the work at hand, which is what this band aims to do, over and over again; without questioning. Life is full of paradoxes, no?

Did I mention that this band has great-smelling hair? Oh; and as an aside, they sound really good too.
