Lindsay Thurber CHS Symphonic Band
École Secondaire Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School (LTCHS) offers a wide variety of programs and opportunities to approximately 1,700 students in Grades 9 to 12. From French Immersion to Raider Athletics, from International Baccalaureate to Knowledge and Employability, from Advanced Fabrication to Cosmetology, from Fine Arts to Student Leadership – Lindsay Thurber is a truly unique school with a diverse array of courses and programs.

The LTCHS Symphonic Band is a non-auditioned ensemble made up of students in Grades 10, 11 and 12. Very few (if any) of the students in this group receive private lessons on their instrument. This five-credit, full-year course is offered completely outside the timetable from 7:10 – 8:25 am three times per week. Many students in the Symphonic Band also participate in other ensembles, including Chamber Groups, Jazz Band, Pep Band and R&B Band.

The LTCHS Symphonic Band has had many opportunities to share their music locally and abroad. Recent trips include New York City, Anaheim, California, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Over the past several years, the band has achieved numerous Superior ratings at local, provincial, and international festivals, including a second place overall award at the 2014 New York City Festival of Music.

We would like to thank the Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival for giving us the opportunity to share our music with you today. Enjoy!
