Agincourt Madrigal Singers

Directors: James Pinhorn; Amanda Tulk-O’Reilly

Agincourt Collegiate is the oldest high school in the city of Scarborough, Ontario, having recently celebrated its 100th Anniversary as an educational institution.  The music program currently has over 225 students who participate in our choirs at the school.

The Agincourt Madrigal Singers is Agincourt C.I.’s only auditioned choral ensemble. This choir is comprised of 46 students from Grades 11, 12 and five Grade 10 students who dedicate themselves to developing their choral art in a chamber music setting.

The students in this ensemble meet once a week to learn choral repertoire that  is both challenging and rewarding to sing, and is intended to be an extended learning activity, challenging singers who wish to further expand their abilities. Although the group is auditioned, not many of the students in this ensemble are trained singers, most are instrumentalists who value singing as an integral part of learning music.
